WETLANDS
Wetlands are transitional areas, sandwiched between water bodies and well-drained uplands. They include mangroves, marshes, swamps, forested wetlands, bogs, wet prairie potholes, and vernal pools. Wetlands are some of the most biologically productive ecosystems in the world, comparable to tropical rainforests and coral reefs in their productivity and the diversity of species they support. Indeed, wetlands are found from the tundra to the tropics and on every continent except Antarctica.

The artist has chosen shades of green to dominate this print. Smiling Green frogs jump to and from green lily pads. Cinnamon Teal ducks splash playfully, while a Bog turtle rests peacefully in the hazy sunshine. A slippery snail quietly slithers along. A light showering of bubbles is used to represent the abundance of moisture found in the wetlands, while pulling together the earthy colours of this print.
