Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks for successful cloth nappying ...
Keep some disposables or terry squares handy. This may sound like a strange thing for someone who
loves fitted cloth nappies to say, but the last thing
you need is to be stressing about washing
nappies. There will always be rainy, tired and/or sick weeks when it may not be possible to keep up
with the nappies. Keep a backup so these weeks don't become worse than they need be.
Make sure you have enough nappies. Otherwise you will be under unreasonable pressure to wash and
dry nappies.
Use a nappy liner to reduce staining of your nappies and make cleaning up easier. A stay-dry liner is good
for cleaning and comfortable for baby. A flushable/compostable liner makes clean-up even easier, but will add
to the cost of your nappies. (Please note: not all nappy liners are flushable - please check your package
carefully before flushing.)
Minimise chemical usage and cost by using reusable baby wipes at change time. A thermos of warm water kept
near the change table will make clean-up easy for you and comfortable for baby.
