Fitted Cloth Nappies - How it all works
Getting Started - What you will need
- a nappy - the correct size for your baby's weight and shape
- a waterproof cover - the correct size for your baby's weight and shape
(Optional)
- a booster (absorbent liner) - only necessary for larger baby's or for use during
longer outings and sleeps
- a liner - a disposable or reusable stay-dry liner for making cleaning up easier and
keeping baby's bottom dry.
Putting it all together
- lay the nappy out flat
- insert the booster/liner (optional)
- lay the disposable or stay-dry liner into the nappy (optional)
- place baby's bottom onto the nappy (booster, liner combination)
- bring the front of the nappy up through the baby's legs
- bring the side flaps around and fasten snugly at the waist (one-size nappy) - fasten
snuggly at the waist and legs (Sandy's nappy)
- lay the cover out flat
- place baby's bottom (with nappy) onto the cover
- bring the front of the cover up through the baby's legs
- fasten snugly at the waist with the Aplix (Rikki) and at the legs and the waist (air-flow) -
the cover should be snug but not tight
- make sure all of the nappy is inside the cover - this is very important. Run
your finger around the waist and legs to make sure all of the nappy is tucked in.
- You are done! Dress baby as usual.
Going on with it - what you will need
- for full-time use around 24 nappies and 4 covers
- some boosters for nighttime
- some disposable or stay-dry reusable liners
